About Black Bottle IT
Assessing Cyber Risk. Deploying the Right Solution.
Black Bottle IT helps Pittsburgh-area businesses — and clients beyond — assess cyber risk through advanced cybersecurity practices enhanced by AI and intelligent automation. We understand companies’ sensitive data, where it’s stored, how it flows through the organization, and how smart technology can provide continuous, comprehensive protection.
Our Cybersecurity Experts bring extensive experience to businesses of all sizes, combining human expertise with AI-driven insights and automated security processes. We monitor, detect, investigate, analyze, and respond through this powerful integration of human intelligence and advanced technology, delivering both enhanced security and operational efficiency to your business. We thrive on learning about businesses, understanding what they do, and deploying the optimal blend of expertise and automation to protect them from cyber threats.
SOC 2 Certified — Because Your Trust Has to Be Earned
Black Bottle IT is SOC 2 certified. That’s not a checkbox for us — it’s a commitment.
SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is an independent audit framework that verifies a service provider’s controls around security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. Achieving certification means a third-party auditor has examined how we handle your data and confirmed that our practices meet rigorous industry standards.
For our clients, that means:
- Your data is handled with verified controls, not just good intentions.
- You have documentation to show your own clients and auditors that your IT partner holds itself to the same standards it recommends.
- We walk the walk. We ask our clients to invest in compliance — HIPAA, CMMC, and more — so it matters to us that we lead by example.
In an industry where vendors ask for trust, SOC 2 is how we prove ours.
Growing Through Strategy — Our MSP Roll-Up
Black Bottle IT is executing a deliberate growth strategy built around acquiring and integrating high-quality Managed Service Providers across the Western Pennsylvania region. Our goal is simple: bring together firms that share our values — responsive service, deep client relationships, and an uncompromising focus on security — and give them the resources and platform to serve clients even better.
Our First Acquisition: Restart IT
In May 2026, Black Bottle IT completed its first strategic acquisition — Restart IT, a trusted IT services firm based in Monroeville, PA. Founded by Bob DiGioia, Restart IT had built a strong reputation for personalized, responsive service across the Pittsburgh metro area. Bob now serves as Vice President at Black Bottle IT, ensuring continuity for existing Restart IT clients while strengthening our team’s depth and regional reach.
“This isn’t just about growth; it’s about bringing together two teams that share the same values and the same mission: keeping businesses protected, productive, and prepared for whatever comes next.” — John Hensberger, Founder & President, Black Bottle IT
